Before using Resi, we used a OBS, then Castr, both of which streamed directly to the internet with no delay (RTMP). With these services, any interruption to the internet will lead to glitches and buffering in the stream. The resilient streaming protocol (RSP) in Resi uploads two minutes of audio and video to the cloud before routing it to our live stream destination, which creates a healthier and glitch-free streaming experience. (NOTE: If your internet completely cuts out like happened to us a few weeks back, not even Resi can fix that\!) Another huge selling point for us was that we switched to ProPresenter, which can function as a software encoder for Resi. In our setup, the visuals for our worship gathering AND our live stream are all integrated into one program. To make it even better, through the Resi control panel, we can easily set up a live stream schedule. Before Resi, we had to manually populate all of the details in Facebook and YouTube and manually start and stop each live stream. For us, this was not only tedious, but required an additional computer and an additional team member. Now that we have Resi integrated in ProPresenter and set up on a schedule, virtually everything is automated and we no longer need a dedicated volunteer to oversee the live stream. As a smaller church, this is huge for us. > > **Cons**: The beauty of using ProPresenter as a software encoder is that everything is integrated into one program. The downside of that is that Resi is dependent upon the stability of the ProPresenter platform. Thankfully, we've never had ProPresenter glitch or quit unexpectedly during a worship gathering, but it did happen once during rehearsal.
