It has improved from version 7 to the recent release of X in speed of backup to the point I can backup and verify a 100 gb C drive in less than 5 minutes (using USB4). It can restore your system, from scratch, in just a few minutes more. It can create a Windows PE bootable USB to restore, backup or fix boot problems with Windows > > **Cons**: Paramount Software has instituted, like many software vendors, a yearly licensing fee which has its quirks, and the pressure will be on them to either develop another product or make it worth the user's money to pay yearly in order to upgrade with each release. It has saved me quite a number of times from difficult situations. For example, I have a couple of programs (including Macrium) that occasionally lose their key settings files on one of my computers. If I can't restore in a simpler way, I can restore the last good copy from a backup with a minimum of fuss, seeing \& even opening the file(s) in question before restore. Macrium is also very useful in preparing a new HDD/SSD for use by copying whole disks or partitions. Lastly, there is occasional crapware that does something to my system that I can't figure out. Typically, the easiest solution is to simply restore from a backup a day, a week or sometimes a month prior. Viola\!
