This provides a clear audit trail and prevents the common issue of team members working off of outdated files. The platform serves as a reliable single source of truth for all project-related documentation. > > **Cons**: While Box is great for general file management, its performance and features lag when handling the specific demands of heavy 3D CAD files and complex assemblies. Syncing very large files (often several gigabytes) through the desktop client can be slow and resource-intensive, interrupting workflow. More importantly, Box lacks the specialized tools I rely on in dedicated Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems like Teamcenter or Windchill. It doesn't have an integrated 3D viewer that can properly render complex assemblies, check for interferences, or manage part dependencies and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Huge overcharges that they refuse to even acknowledge much less credit back. NEVER give this company a credit card. > > I tried to reduce the number of seats we are charged for with their online tool and they charged for double the number of seats. After a week, the only response to multiple inquiries is "You have to call on the phone," but their site provides no phone number. But I'm not offended: they also refuse to respond to the credit card company and the Better Business Bureau. Either Box is terribly managed or they actually care more about a few thousand dollars than about their reputation as corporate pirates.
