This is a powerful software solution, and highly customizable being open source. It is an excellent solution when user rights and projects have to be assigned at a very granular level. The conversion features are excellent, and it supports all media types. Searches and views are also very customizable. I would note that all of this customization comes at a price. This is not easy software to administrate and has quite a learning curve. Given that, customer support is excellent, expedient, and patient. Whether going server-side or cloud install I would highly advise buying the support package. While our DAM install was very smooth, the Drupal module that was subcontracted via Entermedia did exceed the install timetable, but it was completed at no additional cost. The Entermedia sales and support are fantastic, specifically Casey who is our rep, and is very fast to respond and knowledgeable of the product. They are a pleasure to work with. The software has a number of features that fit our needs precisely, particularly around working with assets and metadata in bulk. During the 15-day deployment, the installation turned out to be quite a bit more complicated than anticipated, due to the complexity of our server setup within a larger university setting. Throughout the process, Casey and the developers were very helpful in making sure that we got up and running - very supportive in coordinating with multiple contact persons in different departments. In addition, they have been great in working with us post-installation to implement some custom functionality elements and helping to work through other challenges as they arise. While we appreciated the 'off-the shelf' product , we needed to customize our site in several ways to meet our users needs (i.e., faculty and teaching fellows), including changing some of the search tools and the user interfaces. EnterMedia has gone to lengths to understand and meet our needs, and been very receptive to all of our requests. As a group that does not have an in-house programmer, we have relied on their technical expertise to help us create a custom asset management tool and have been very pleased with the results to date.
