Great HR Software for Small Businesses
Comments: Overall, this is a great HR application for small businesses. There are a lot of very useful out-of-box features available, and the pricing model doesn't change if you are under a certain number of users so there is room for growth without continuously increasing your costs. Compared to other HR applications we researched, this was the most user-friendly for the best price. If you are looking to automate some of your HR work, I highly recommend implementing BambooHR. It has greatly improved the organization of our HR processes.
Pros:
BambooHR is an easy to use and very comprehensive HR software that offers a lot of valuable and high-use out-of-box features. Our initial primary uses of the software were aggregation and consolidation of personnel information, PTO tracking, and general communication of company announcements to the team. As we got further into the product offerings, we also began to heavily utilize the onboarding, offboarding, and recruiting features, all of which were previously done using very manual processes. BambooHR allowed us to discontinue using spreadsheets and other manual forms for very common and basic HR functions, while housing them under one roof. It also provided our employees with a easier way to contribute to their own personnel profiles, and while as request and track PTO.
Cons:
To properly utilize BambooHR according to your companies specific HR processes, there is a lot of individual and time-intensive setup involved. The platform is fairly customizable, but only if you are willing to invest significant time into configuring the features. While we expected a significant time investment into setting up the application, we were disappointed to learn that we would not have a dedicated account manager to help us with the setup process. We had to learn everything about the platform on our own through the BambooHR help portal, or by calling the customer service number and waiting for a representative to be available. We also experience a price increase only a few month after signing up for the service. We were also disappointed to learn that the integrations with Google and Slack are very limited, and while some information can be passed between the systems, we needed to customize some of the API calls in order to share more useful information with the team. There are definitely some limitations to their integrations.
Its a All-In-One HR application
Comments: Overall, this application is 9/10 for me. It has the very user friendly interface which anyone can use easily without training (Super easy to use). Its Self-Service is a game changer meaning i dont have to email HR for every little thing like updating address or seeing my benefit or vacation. If you are new to the company, Onboarding is very smooth. Also, im grateful for its mobile version which lets me check my performance at anytime and anywhere. I can access my history, upcoming holiday and employee information from this very application.
Pros:
Honestly, this app is all in one application that saves a lot of time as a employee while making us feel empowered. Whether it's about setting goals, onboarding o requesting time off, it has everything thus saving a lot of back-and-forth hassle. Instead of asking HR for every single change/update, we can do it ourself through this application. Other features i liked about this app is the performance monitoring and the transparency of my own career history, upcoming holidays and many more.
Cons:
There is not much complaint from my side regarding this app but it would have been perfect if it had payroll Built-in instead of add-on service but its still great.

Pros:
They made the administrative side of HR so much easier for us. Easy tracking, automatic reminders, clearly display everything to staff, conduct performance reviews, onboarding and offboarding simplified. All great. Really helped our business get to the next level with staffing. We were so deeply upset when their business practices forced us to find a different product.
Cons:
After almost 4 years as a loyal customer, they restructured their subscription packages moving us from top tier to mid tier and moving some of the add-on features we were paying extra for into the top tier. At that point they told us that unless we upgraded with a 75% price increase we would no longer receive upgrades to those features. The point of subscription software is that we are paying for the continual development and upgrades. It is totally not ok to force existing customers to pay monthly for legacy software. I tried to negotiate with them and ask for some kind of compromise, like grandfathering us into top tier only for those features or perhaps a discount on top tier for a period of time. They absolutely refused to work with me, straight up refused to let me talk to a manager, insisted that I had to take the full price increase to retain updates for the features I'd already been using for years. When I told them that was a terrible way to treat a loyal customer and that I would take my business elsewhere they were fine with it. Perhaps because we are a small business, they don't see it worth their time to keep us as a customer. I would warn everyone away from BambooHR as you can't trust the prices they tell you you'll pay. Unreliable, predatory, and awful way to treat loyal customers. From a company that preaches about treating people well from an HR perspective, they sure don't understand how to treat customers.

Creating Structure with Bamboo HR
Comments: While we've been using Bamboo HR for nearly two years, we have yet to fully utilize all of their features. I look forward to scaling our Centre with the confidence that Bamboo HR can scale with us.
Pros:
The ability to quick implement a robust human resource information system, providing structure and stability to organizations who otherwise may not have the resources to create similar systems on their own.
Cons:
Largely, the cost of add-ons and customization for small, non-profit and charitable organizations. However, the per-person cost does help keep things reasonable, we just have difficulty scaling to receive the discounts of larger organizations.
Awesome Experience!
Comments: Customer service is amazing and we have overall had a great user experience.
Pros:
It made our onboarding seamless and we saw increased applicants because of the ease of the hiring process.
Cons:
We have liked everything so far. There are a few reports that would be helpful for us to have, but nothing that is keeping us from a solid operation.
Pleasant to Use
Comments: Overall, Bamboo HR was a pleasant payroll tool to use compared to ones I have used in the past. I would definitely recommend over tools such as ADP or Paylocity. I like their color scheme and font choices as well; it was easy on the eyes.
Pros:
-The user interface is easy to navigate. -It's easy to tell how much time off I have used throughout the year and what I have left to use, instead of trying to manually calculate. -I like how they have the option to use the platform as a place to record performance and goals. No need to log onto another platform. -I like that there's a company directory so that I can find the names of people I need to talk to, rather then relying on Microsoft Outlook's finnicky contact cards.
Cons:
-I don't like that there's a way to see who is out of the office and when for the whole company. This seems like an invasion of privacy and it should be limited to those who work in your team. -I think the file organization could be better. I had a slew of documents I signed when on-boarding, but I could not find all of them again in the platform once I officially joined the company.
BambooHR Review
Comments: BambooHR is great for keeping track of all employees time off and quarterly reviews.
Pros:
Great way to keep track of people time off and reviews.
Cons:
I hate now you need a security code also to log in.
Easy to use, modern and cheaper than other HR systems.
Comments: It's simple, easy to use, does all the main functions you need from a HR system, and is quite cheap.
Pros:
It is modern and much cheaper than other HR systems.
Cons:
Process flows aren't really customisable so if you had complex processes you might have issues.
BambooHR Review by an Employee
Comments: I use BambooHR every day to punch in and out for my shift. I also use BambooHR to submit time of requests and self-assessments/coworker ratings for reviews. It stores many important documents relating to my employment.
Pros:
I like that BambooHR has a mobile app. The app is very convenient because you have all of your documents at your fingertips.
Cons:
Sometimes the app glitches and I have had a couple of mistakes on my timecard because of it.
Hiring and onboarding software for small organizations
Comments: We just started using this software for hiring and onboarding people for our company and now we are completelt replying on this software to expedite the hiring process and till today it has given us very good results , so satisfied with this software till now.
Pros:
Hiring process with this software is very easy and siimple, for both the Talent recruiter as well the candidates who all are applying.
Cons:
user interface needs to be improved as per the current HR industry trends and customer support can be more better

Cost effective HRIS with some great features. Lacking in others
Comments: Overall, BambooHR has been slipping in the last year or so. New packaging/pricing that is worse, customer support stretched thin, features lacking with a roadmap that still misses the mark. This isn't just me saying this, as others are talking about this as well. Their dedicated HR Slack workspace is often just issues, complaints, etc., which mostly are met with radio silence from BambooHR. When we implemented them, I think they were much better than what they have become now. If you are a small business, BambooHR is a great product with their new Core package being my recommendation. If you are even approaching 30, 40, 50+ employees, or are international, I would suggest maybe looking elsewhere.
Pros:
I really enjoy many aspects of BambooHR. It is a cost effective solution for small to medium businesses. Great with onboarding/hiring, employee documentation & profiles, UI and navigation, etc. Also, the payroll part of the system has come a long way and is now a well designed feature that is easy to use. Their customer support team, when you can get ahold of them, is fantastic. One of the best things about BambooHR.
Cons:
It lacks either features entirely, or lacks complexity of competitors. The ATS and Performance parts are extremely lacking with limited options to customize or enhance. Missing many common features that other platforms have had for many years now. A general theme with BambooHR is that you can only go so deep when it comes to how you can customize things. The two built in surveys they offer, for example, have no option to customize, nor can you run custom surveys at all, which is a shame. Additionally, BambooHR recently decided to completely redo their package and pricing structure and it is not a good change. We are on a grandfathered package that they are going to be dropping support for in some cases. There is no incentive to switch to one of the other packages because one offers less at almost the same cost, and the other adds on 3 features that are either redundant, not really a full feature, or that we already have. Performance was an add-on and is now included with the Pro package, which is way more costly. Customer support team, as mentioned in Pros, is great, but the chat feature is never available anymore and sometimes it feels like they have so many inquiries that they would rather point the finger at other things versus solving problems and working with customers. If you are an international company, BambooHR is extremely lacking in support there. You can tell that BambooHR was built with US employees in mind first and many things just don't work in other countries, or you have to find workarounds. In my opinion, BambooHR has become what I think they have tried to not be, which is a corporate entity selling a product versus selling a mission/vision of setting people free to do great work. They claim to listen to their customer base, but it is clear when talking to other customers that they don't.
Bamboo HR appreciated by employees and management
Comments: Really like using it. Simple, efficient and accurate!! Also - helps the employee have the access at their fingertips whenever they want to review. No need to call HR or wait til the office is open.
Pros:
The flexibility it gives the employee to login wherever their job may take them, You don't need to go to a physical building to "clock-in" or out. Everyone has their phone.... so you can use it anywhere.
Cons:
For those that "forget" to clock in, HR can edit but sometimes I want to set a reminder to check ....time for if I should clock out. Part time help that never used to punch a clock does not always remember to clock in or out..... but again, they can have management manually add it.
Alternatives Considered:
Best in the game and most affordable for all the options.

Simple user platform that out performs the competition.

Reporting could use some work in payroll.
Big Fan of BambooHR
Comments: I inherited this product when I came into my position as HR Director. I loved how easy it was to use from the beginning! I even chose to dive deeper into all that we use it for and my employees love it just as much as I do! The BEST part, when I have an issue that I need to call support on, they are always so friendly and helpful! Best customer service in my book!
Pros:
I love it's simple format! I use it as my brain for HR as I move away from too many spreadsheets. I love how everything is available and at my fingertips quickly. My employees love it too! The app makes everything so much easier for them and they appreciate having the information easily available and can self-service most things. I just LOVE it so much!
Cons:
There are a few features that could be easier to use for inputting our data. Since we have a church we have some unique payroll things that are doable just not as easy as I feel they could be.

The features are designed with the entire employee lifecycle in mind, covering everything from recruitment to day-to-day management, which is incredibly valuable. The recruitment function and app integration are top-notch, allowing for seamless operation. And let's talk about the support chat—it's fantastic. You get quick, reliable help whenever you need it. The automated reminders are another solid feature, keeping you on track without having to micromanage every detail.
Cons:
If I had to point out one area for improvement, it would be the recruitment function. It could really benefit from CV parsing capabilities, which would make searching for the right candidates a lot more efficient. It’s a small tweak, but one that could add significant value.
We love BambooHR!
Comments: BambooHR has been great! The application is always being updated with new features. I am also able to get help when I need it. The employees are always very friendly and helpful!
Pros:
BambooHR has simplified so many processes for us. It is very user friendly and our employees can clock in and request time off from the app on their phone. These features alone have saved so much time.
Cons:
I'm sure it will be added, but I would like some of the new features like employee community and benefits administration to be available on the app. We have quite a few employees who do not have their own computer. This would make things much easier for them.

Comments: Overall, I'll give BambooHR an 8 out of 10 rating. I think for the pricing, I'd give it a 10 out of 10. It offers good core functionality and ease of use. I'm quite impressed and happy with our selection.
Pros:
Bamboo is easy to use, even for a non-tech/HRIS person. We were able to use the HR team w/ the support of the BHR team to design and buildout. Additionally, it is easy for employees to use--very intuitive. We were also able to use this platform globally, whereas other platforms didn't have the capability.
Cons:
BHR still is in the younger stages of buildout. There is some functionally that I had with other HRIMs that are missing from Bamboo including a more defined benefits platform and more integration capability.

Comments: Overall, a very positive experience. The home page/dashboard is very handy and for hiring purposes its great!

I really like all the features, I mostly use it for hiring and it makes viewing candidates very easy!
Cons:
The most recent update has changed the look of the platform and I'm not a huge fan of it. There could also be better reporting to come from the hiring section.

Comments: Magnificent overall! I appreciate the fact that we can even use it for training, onboarding, looking for other files, tracking employees, their status and so much more. This is really a good tool to have.
Pros:
I love BambooHR in so many aspects. But my favorite would be how it can be integrated into other HR Software Tools and job boards. My work as a Technical Recruiter is to hunt for the right candidate and it became easier to do so when we integrated BambooHR to other tools we have.
Cons:
The function of uploading the candidate's resume and manually entering the details one by one is pretty time-consuming. I am hopeful it will be better soon!
A great tool for people and employment management
Comments: we've been using BambooHR for over 6 years, overall very satisfied with the product. It makes our team collaboration much easier. I just wish it can be integrated with other payroll system such as ADP.
Pros:
Very user-friendly, easy to explore and find the functions, not much training is needed. I also like the fact that we're able to customize the reports we need.
Cons:
The notification feature is not very flexible. For example, we're able to get the notification when there's a addition or termination. but can't get one if there's an internal transfer. therefore we have to notify other teams out side of BHR.

Bamboo is a very friendly HRIS, super intuitive, and easy to use, you can have everything in the same platform, your ats, performance reviews, files of each employee, surveys, onboarding, for the employees is very easy to use, ask for their vacations, see the org chart and check their info and documents anytime they want.

Honestly i like it very much, i will just add more things to the module of performance reviews because it can be a little bit limited

Comments: Love the ability to manage staff. I use it to plan for birthdays and anniversaries. I use it on a daily basis to manage attendance and providing documented coaching.

Easy management system!
Pros:
The thing I like most about BambooHR is that it is an easy place to not only store employee documents, reviews and information, but it is easy to access and navigate. We have some employees who are not as proficient in technology and they have picked this right up! You can also create any kind of report you want to for any category, which has been super helpful for us!
Cons:
When power editing employees on certain things, it does not edit only the employees who you have changed information for, but creates a new line for everyone.
