Reviews of Yodeck
Simple Set Up and Access to All Main Features for Free (Single Screen).
Comments: Having tried several of the competitors that have apps for Amazon Fire Sticks, this one had all the features I wanted, allowed full and free use to try things out with a single screen and generally made my life easier than the competitors I explored.
Pros:
It's easy to use. The free options give full features for a single screen, the prices for adding extra screens are reasonable too. The solution works flawlessly using the Yodeck app on an Amazon Fire Stick, which means no special equipment is needed ... as long as you have a Wifi connection available. If you pay for a year at a time, Yodeck even give you a free Raspberry Pi player. So far, I've only pointed Yodeck at webpages which I maintain and fed it still images, but it can also handle video, audio and other sources if you opt for a the premium or enterprise plan. I've only used the free and basic plans. Yodeck and other providers have fuller featured options, but the extra options came with complexity and expense and in my case simply weren't needed.
Cons:
I had previously used a Raspberry Pi as one of my Yodeck players, which worked perfectly once set up, but the initial set up was fiddly. The process may have improved since then, however.
Alternatives Considered: OptiSigns and Display.Stream
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: Access to the main features without payment allowed easy testing. And as we could use already available equipment, a Fire Stick, we could get started at zero cost. Pricing was a major factor as we're using it as part of a not-for-profit event. Being able to upgrade and downgrade our package between the plans means we never need to pay for features we aren't using.
High usability and reasonable in price
Comments: With Yodeck I am now able to show important data like Appointments, Driving duration (per Power Automate as Teams News), PowerBI-Reports and other Data on one Screen. I do not have to follow links and look for the Data, once setup it works. Also during visiting hours the screens show other data so that my customers don't see internals. Thats a really great helper for myself and also my wife who also sees her appointments on screen(my workplace is at home). Would recommend and will do.
Pros:
What I like best about Yodeck is the uncomplicated registration/login, especially with Microsoft 365. Screens, Playlists and Apps are good to set up, connections to Microsoft works and you get what you see. Implementing Business Apps like Sharepoint News is a great feature for longer news where you can go to the full Newssite by QR-code, for short news Teams Integration works really well. Even with Images and Videos. With this Features and without the need for multiple User Accounts to Setup Screens one Admin is able to set up for different Teams and they can themself put Data to the Screens (and delete them) as often as they please. Until now there was no need to contact Customer Support. And all this for an unbeatable price in relation to other competitors.
Cons:
Unfortunately not everything regarding Microsoft 365 is implemented yet. The biggest "problem" is, there is no Implementation of OneDrive Folders for easy display of Images or PDFs (but you can work around this with Sharepoint News or Teams News, but this needs a bit more user interaction). Also there is no support for AppleTV/iOS, this would bring the possibilities to share over different existing teams and setups to a higher level.
Alternatives Considered: Play Digital Signage, ScreenCloud, Mango Display, OptiSigns and PosterBooking
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: It has not all features that are nice to have and not the cheapest price but is has a reasonable price for its features and it works as I want.
Horrible, complete waste of time and money - Do Not Purchase!
Comments: I had a horrible experience and would advise everyone to avoid Yodeck. I was told that the basic player would meet our needs, but it didn't and kept glitching (the screen would freeze and shut off repeatedly). The tech team said the only solution was to upgrade my player, so I did and then had to wait over a month for it to arrive. It finally arrived and didn't connect. The tech team had me jump through hoops and try several methods to fix it (none of them simple) over the course of 2 weeks but nothing worked, and they kept insisting that our network was the issue. But the first player had no issues connecting to our network so it was clearly not our network, it was their faulty player. Now they refuse to issue a refund for the player and annual subscription.
Pros:
Nothing, I chose it because it was cheaper than the other options but I should have just paid more for a different company in the first place to avoid wasting so much time.
Cons:
Complete waste of time and money, was not the simple solution they promised.
Alternatives Considered: Mvix Digital Signage
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: It was cheaper and the other reviews were great. Now I'm wondering if all of those positive reviews are fake. I will be switching to a different company
Best for our needs
Comments: No problems, saves u s a lot of time maintaining the devices, when there are any problems, everything is fixed fast, in a matter of hours. Pretty much most hassle-freee experience from all systems we've tried.
Pros:
Fast response times of support, they try to do everything for the best experience
Cons:
Lacking remote desktop, which is by design, so nothing we can do about it now.
Alternatives Considered: Screenly
Reasons for Choosing Yodeck: maintenance costs - need to have a dedicated 1/2 FTE
Switched From: Debian
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: ease of use and price, included devices, multiplatform
Yodeck allows your imagination to grow
Comments: Very satisfied in my experience as a digital marketing publisher and editor.
Pros:
Yodeck is way ahead of its time and very underrated in terms of its package and offerings. It allows your imagination to grow with the many possibilities with its functionality and publication system. The software is reliable easy to understand and comes at a fair price for commercial uses or personal. Multi screen PIP (picture in picture) is what i liked the most. Controlling the screen is what we want and Yodeck delivers just that brilliantly.
Cons:
Hard to say. Maybe the pricing can be reviewed as we are living in a very competitive age with very advance tech out the. For example there is hologram tech that has been on the market of digital signage for quiet some time.
Alternatives Considered: Canva and Mailchimp
Reasons for Choosing Yodeck: The system was limited in its scheduling and did not handle video well at all.
Switched From: Raspberry Pi OS, LibreOffice and GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program)
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: Visual communication is an important element to marketing and impactful to brand marketing.
Most affordable and versatile Digital Signage App for bars!
Comments: I really appreciate how Yodeck integrates everyday tools like Canva, making content creation and marketing intuitive and efficient. Being able to import designs directly from Canva without needing to download or upload files is a huge time saver. However, I do find the layout interface a bit buggy and limiting, especially when using Yodeck’s own design tools. Copying and pasting text can be unreliable, so I often rely on external apps like Canva or Adobe Suite to handle more intricate designs. User interface is friendly and anyone can pick it up fairly easily on their own.
Pros:
I love how you can integrate everyday tools and apps into your playlists and layouts. It makes creating content and marketing a breeze because of how intuituve it is. Being able to implement my Canva designs right from the Canva website without downloading/uploading is such a time saver, and it imports it right into my media library.
Cons:
The layout interface is a bit buggy on its own and a bit limiting when using the design tools from Yodeck itself. Copying/pasting text is a bit buggy, therefore one would pretty much have to rey on apps such as Canva or anything from the Adibe suite to design anything intricate and complex.
Alternatives Considered: UPshow and Screenly
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: It's cheaper and offersI chose Yodeck over alternative products because it offers an intuitive interface, seamless integration with tools like Canva, and cost-effective pricing. Its remote management feature allows easy control of multiple screens from anywhere, and the playlist and content scheduling options are flexible and user-friendly. Additionally, Yodeck’s customizable branding ensures a consistent look across all displays, and the affordable hardware setup with Raspberry Pi makes it a great value compared to more expensive alternatives like BrightSign or Screenly.
Best Signage software on the market.
Comments: Overall, we are impressed with ease of set up and use. This has upped our communication with our membership.
Pros:
Yodeck is one of the best digital signage applications we have used for our branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. We are controlling 2 monitors in the building using the software to control the content very easily. The support has been top notch, if we have a rare problem.
Cons:
The only thing we haven't liked about the software is that we don't have more monitors to use with it.
Yodeck for you!
Pros:
I love the ease of use of Yodeck and that they have a great free product to try out with very few limitations. Definitely glad I upgraded.
Cons:
The web player doesn't seem to refresh as quickly but that might be the device I am using.
Alternatives Considered: XOGO Decision Signage
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: We looked at a lot of digital signage platforms but I am unsure of any of the ones we looked at as it was some time ago.
I love Yodeck
Comments: I work in IT, and using Yodeck was a very simple and easy learning process. I found it very well designed and programmed, providing immediate results once content was pre-scheduled and pushed to screens.
Pros:
The ability to schedule diverse content type for students, during classroom times, at my former high school. Having the option to push content at prescheduled times, and being able to select and define screen location and section size, they are all really convenient features from Yodeck.
Cons:
I sort of wish the cost would be a bit more affordable for Education institutions. I am using Yodeck on my former High School, and they have limited funds to cover more than a single screen at the moment. They will be going Premium by end of year.
Great for small business!
Comments: I am very happy with Yodeck, it is a great digital signage option for our small business. It was easy to set up and start displaying messages to our customers.
Pros:
User Experience is good, easy to understand and follow. I was set up in minutes.
Cons:
Availability on more platforms and control. I am set up on a fire tv and the tv shuts off every two hours.
Excellent Solution for Digital Signage
Comments: Excellt. We have zero plans to look for an alternative.
Pros:
That we are able to display exactly what we want, when we want, and it can all be controlled remotely.
Cons:
The only area I would like to see them improve on is when adding content to a playlist. We're able to group content into folders when adding media, but that grouped content is no grouped when adding media to a playlist. Generally this isn't a big deal, but when we have 40+ videos that are just for NFL and those videos are displayed next to every other video it makes the selection process a little combersome.
Alternatives Considered: Screenfluence
Reasons for Choosing Yodeck: Because Untappd was not advancing their platform to allow anything other than static images. There was no video, playlists, scheduling, or troubleshooting for specific players (ie. rebooting, turning off, etc).
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: Screenfluence was not able to display web pages (our beer tap list) properly..
WYSIWYG Screen Content Manage Done Well
Pros:
I love the simplicity of the publishing dashboard. You can literally work the user dashboard from concept to publishing within a couple of minutes in so many cases. I also love that updates can be done from my phone to prepare welcomes for arriving board members, surprise parties for employees who are celebrating high-year milestone service anniversaries, and even put up QR codes for pulse surveys that we need our employees to engage with immediately. Yodeck alsoo allows us to prioritize messages. It also allows us to toggle with how long we want a piece of content to appear on screen compared to another piece which can enable our employees with as much time as they need to receive the message. Multi-Location feature gives a level of detail that I didn’t even know I needed until it was presented to me. Some locations within our footprint don’t need to see certain messages, and this functionality allows us to skip publishing to their location’s device. Being able to customize what content you want to appear on screen is one thing, but the option to run a news banner, weather forecast, and the local time in the corner is icing on the cake. It makes for a dynamic experience, drawing eyes to the screen and creating an interesting and refreshing experience for our employees every time. Finally, sheduling is extremely helpful for initiatives, events and activities that are bound by a window of time, and also convenient for me because I don’t have to physically go back into Yodeck and remove the content myself. It helps ensure messages to our employees don’t get stale.
Cons:
Doesn’t include integrations into Microsoft 365 that we want our seamless employees to see or have access to. Also, does not use locations to auto-translate messages.
Alternatives Considered: Staffbase and Appspace
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: Lowest cost for the best experience. We get everything we need in Yodeck and can easily roll it out across the world to our 30+ sites.
Usng Yodeck Digital Signage to support small businesses.
Comments: Overall Yodeck provides a solid platform for most all digital signage applications. Easy to integrate customer for content updates, which they love, with minimal training.
Pros:
Cost, ease of use, stable performance are most important to me and Yodeck delivers. Creating workgroups a nd tags to manage content for multiple customers,
Cons:
Initially scheduling of multiple playlists which has been resolved.
Alternatives Considered: MOSTLY Generate
Reasons for Choosing Yodeck: Cost, ease of customer involvement.. Made Yodeck an easy change. I have used multiple digital signage solutions from large enterprise to simple onscreen players. Yodeck provides great features, including ,my need to mange multiple customers. easy at a greatt value. Best signage solution for the money.
Switched From: Multiple
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: Multiple from local server enterprise solutions to web based solutions. Yodeck provided the features I needed from the enterp[rise level solutions at a very reasonable web app cost.
Very Easy to Use and Great Support
Comments: I tried a few different signage vendors and picked YoDeck for its ease of use and price. Very easy to set up. Was up and running with pictures on the screen in under an hour.
Pros:
Very easy to set up from scratch. Our trial time was on a self-purchased Raspberry Pi. YoDeck's instructions for setting up a self-purchased player were easy to follow and I was up and running in 15 minutes. Since all media is pushed to players, rather than streaming, the WiFi bandwidth is kept to a minimum. The site itself is easy to navigate and mostly figure out without help. I contacted support on the couple items for which I had questions. They were either able to respond via chat or got back to me within a few hours via email. I really like the media handling of their site. Adding start and expiration dates makes it easier than checking daily to get rid of expired material. Layouts work great as we have our logo, the current date and time as well as a ticker and another entire playlist in a shrunken box on the screen at the same time.
Cons:
No real downsides or dislikes, but there are a couple things that could use improvement. One of them is I wish they would allow you to turn off audio on a video-by-video basis. The only audio controls they offer is the ability to set the TV volume to a certain level on a schedule. I don't need this. I want to be able to have a checkbox that enables or disables audio - or better yet - an audio playback level on a video-by-video basis.
Alternatives Considered: piSignage
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: piSignage and YoDeck use the same open-source backend software, but YoDeck did a much better job on the front-end. Their web site is far easier to use than piSignage.
Easy to use. Lots of Funtionality and Integrations.
Comments: We have been very happy using yodeck. it suits our needs and is constantly getting new features that have made it only better over time. I recommend it to anyone who asks me about digital signage.
Pros:
Lots of functionality and Integration. I have been using Yodeck for several years now and have found it to be cleanly set up and intuitive. They also keep brining updtaes to the sytem which is great to have. Some of my favorite features are the apps.
Cons:
When there is an error uploading new content to the screen it doesnt explain what went wrong it just says it didnt work. i then need to try to figure it out with trila and error. i wish it would be clearer what the issue was. It happens rarley though.
Alternatives Considered: Digital Signage Software
Reasons for Choosing Yodeck: Better integrations and nicer layout. Easier to use and works much smoother. Lots more functionality. Seems to be updated and cared for more.

The Best Value In Digital Signage
Comments: The deployment has been easy. The hardware is cheap. We've had much higher user adoption, and I've enjoyed administering it. It's been easy to experiment and make changes. My team has truly loved using YoDeck
Pros:
It is incredibly user friendly for both admins and customers. It's cheap and easy to deploy, it's easy to manage...it's amazing!
Cons:
There are limited features compared to more full-fledged platforms, such as wayfinding. But we do not utilize that.
Alternatives Considered: Xibo, Skykit, Play Digital Signage, Rise Vision, Elementi SpinetiX, Spectrio and BroadSign
Reasons for Choosing Yodeck: Visix's hardware was expensive, finnicky, and unreliable. It felt like we were constantly fixing players. The interface was not user friendly, and required downloading apps to update content.
Switched From: AxisTV Signage Suite
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: I assessed 20 different digital signage platforms, and YoDeck sits in a great middle ground. It is cheap and uses inexpensive hardware, but still feels stable and easy to use like a more fully-feature platform.
Beyond Bang for the Buck
Comments: Yodeck enabled me to accomplish two wildly important goals for my organization. Yodeck enables me to project our culture to a broad audience in our own voice. So we improved the quality of our production over what we used before. (an outsourced product.) Secondarily, we saved a pile of money because Yodeck is such an affordable solution compared to outsourced digital signage competitors.
Pros:
Yodeck is an essential tool projecting our healthcare organization's cutlure to the audience that matter the most- caregivers. Yodeck is the answer to two important questions: "How do we project our culture to persons who visit our care center?" and "how do we project Palm Garden culture to our caregivers?" I'm able to project Palm Garden Mission, Vision and Values in our own cultural voice and "premier provider" 5-Star brand.
Cons:
There was a learning curve because we switched from an outsourced provider for digital prodction to internal production of content. Yodeck YouTube videos helpedme a lot!
YoDeck for the win
Comments: Thus far it has worked very well. More than well. Yodeck has been above and beyond what we were looking for.
Pros:
What I like most about Yodeck is that it is easy to use and powerful enough to do what we need.
Cons:
The only con is that Yodeck takes a bit longer than I would like to update content.
Alternatives Considered: Square Point of Sale and 3PLEX
Reasons for Choosing Yodeck: Yodeck was quicker to use and faster implement than other platforms we have looked at.
Switched From: Samsung SDS
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: It was simple and easy enough for all team members to use.
Just the product I was looking for!
Comments: I am quite happy with my overall experience. My clients know that they can simply shoot me a message and have me instantly update the content on the screens. They also do not have to worry about turning on and off their screens which they love.
Pros:
What I am happy about the most is the fact that I can remotely update the screens and that there is a preview of what is playing on the screens. Having that confirmation that the content that is running is up to date and correct gives me peace of mind.
Cons:
I did have a some issues installing the player and having the screens link to the wifi as well as having the screens follow the on/off schedule I set. However, I did reach out to customer service and he was able to assist me in a timely manner.
Alternatives Considered: Screencastify
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: After signing up for a trial with both companies, I found that the online platform for managing the screens was much easier to use. I appreciated the price point as well.
New Yodeck User
Comments: We've only been with Yodeck for a few months but overall they have been great! They offer everything that we wanted plus more. Although their customer service is in a different time zone then us, they have still been able to help us when needed.
Pros:
Ease of use, being able to use different content on different players, being able to schedule content, good customer support, easy to manage
Cons:
Customer support is in a different time zone then us, certain app layouts could use an update such as weather and time clock
Alternatives Considered: ScreenCloud and Mvix Digital Signage
Reasons for Choosing Yodeck: Spectrio had a lot of areas where they could not offer what we needed and their players/software was constantly failing. We eventually got frustrated and started looking for someone new. I used the free trial of Yodeck for a while before deciding to go with them as our new vendor.
Switched From: Spectrio
Reasons for Switching to Yodeck: At the end it came down to ease of use and price which is where Yodeck was better than the others.
The ultimate digital signage tool!
Comments: We are Yodeck for roster and student/staff information displays flawlessly for almost 4 years now.
Pros:
- Value for money: tried different, much more expensive solutions, Yodeck beats 'em all! - Use any Raspberry Pi as a player, even 4K display resolutions (using Pi 4), free players for all screens when using annual subscription. - Very intuitive to set up and use. When ordering with player you can setup in advance, just connect the player to your screen and you are all set! Plug & Play! - Cloud based and central management from any device with internet connection.
Cons:
No support for dutch language. No problem for me personally but some users would like this.

Great Signage solution
Comments: Overall, this product is excellent. Yhe product is very lightweight but very powerful. Being able to develop your own apps or even develop your own internal websites that can be displayed on the players, along with being able to run scripts on webpages to automate login to pages is a very nice touch. It does make management of the platform on a day to day basis very easy. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a new digital signage platform.
Pros:
The fact that it is a cloud based platform really works well for us. Due to not being reliant on a central publisher located in a DC, the management of the platform can be done from anywhere. With integrations for SSO from Azure AD, this also provides security and RBAC access from our existing estate without the need to manage individual users and groups in the application. Having Raspberry Pi's run the content displays is a nice touch too, as they are cheap to replace should one fail and using Micro SD cards to install the OS on is also really handy as these can be rebuilt in minutes should there be a problem with the player. There are a large number of widgets available out of the box, but being able to create your own is also really handy too. This way we can build a generic widget for a certain task, then just keep re-using it for different sites.
Cons:
As with any new products, there are a few teething issues. These are mainly down to widgets needing to be developed to allow certain functionality. However, Yodeck tech support are very prompt and very helpful, so can't really say this is a down point. Just a staged development of the app integrations i suppose with any platform.
Great idea poor excution Frustrating Experience with Yodeck: Glitches, Complicated Setup, and Poor Customer Support
Pros:
Free Trial. Number of integrations available to use.
Cons:
I recently had the unfortunate experience of using the Yodeck application, and it left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. The issues I encountered ranged from constant glitches to an overly complicated setup process, coupled with abysmal customer support. As a potential customer, my experience has undoubtedly led me to reconsider my decision to purchase a player and license from Yodeck. First and foremost, the application's performance was far from satisfactory. Glitches were a constant companion, interrupting the smooth operation of the platform. This significantly undermined the reliability of Yodeck, making it difficult to trust the application for seamless content management. The setup process, touted to be user-friendly, turned out to be quite the opposite. The complexity of the installation and configuration procedures made the entire experience more challenging than it should be. For a user like me, seeking an intuitive and straightforward solution, Yodeck fell short of expectations. Adding to the frustration was the customer support, which proved to be utterly inadequate. When attempting to address the glitches and seek assistance with the setup, I encountered delays, unhelpful responses, and an overall lack of responsiveness. The level of support I experienced did not instill confidence in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. Considering the myriad issues I faced during my trial of Yodeck, I have decided to take a hard pass on purchasing a player and license. The combination of glitches, a convoluted setup process, and subpar customer support does not make for a compelling case for investing in this platform. Potential users should be wary of the challenges they may encounter and carefully consider whether Yodeck aligns with their expectations and requirements before making a commitment.
Easy way to promote your business to tv.
Pros:
Yodeck is highly regarded for its user-friendly interface and straightforward implementation process, making digital signage and marketing tasks accessible and efficient. The platform is distinguished by its exceptional customer support, ensuring users have the assistance they need when they need it. Its extensive suite of features, coupled with its frequent usage by businesses, reflects its versatility and effectiveness. Additionally, Yodeck's ease of integration with other systems enhances its appeal, offering a comprehensive solution for those seeking to elevate their marketing strategies with reliable and innovative digital signage solutions.
Cons:
I believe Yodeck is solving the critical problem of effectively promoting businesses in the digital age by streamlining the transition to digital signage. This platform simplifies the process of creating, managing, and deploying digital content across various screens, which significantly enhances brand visibility and engagement. By offering a user-friendly interface, comprehensive customization options, and a wide array of templates, Yodeck enables me to tailor my marketing messages precisely to my target audience. This adaptability not only elevates the customer experience but also allows for real-time updates and modifications, ensuring that my marketing efforts are timely and relevant. The ease of integration with existing systems and robust support further benefits my business by minimizing technical challenges and allowing for a seamless operational flow.
Absolutely love the Yodeck system and support
Comments: over three years of experience with less than 1% failure rate
Pros:
reliability, we have over 100 Yodeck players through out the city, with a varied level of user experience or skill and once they have a grip on the player options I rarely have to go back to retrain.
Cons:
I wish replacement players were shipped quicker.
