Pros:

Was using this with our tech support and content development teams. Does a nice job and allows for very specific tracking and time management.

Cons:

One annoying feature is that you can't pause sessions; you have to stop it, and create a new one. You end up with a couple of 5 second sessions.

Comments: I've been using it for 5+ years and love it! Easy to use, easy to setup, and helpful for accountability on where your time is going.

Pros:

Toggl is easy to use! You can create projects easily, add team members, and get a great understanding of where your time is going on a daily, weekly, monthly, or annual basis.

Cons:

It sometimes randomly will open a new tab in your web browser to tell you about changes happening to Toggl.

Time manager lacking development

Comments: Initial program as previously indicated, easy setup, good initial price, but with a fairly high lack of development. We believe that this prevented us from having it as number one since our needs rose and we needed immediate data and access that the program did not provide us with.

Pros:

One of the first time management applications that we used in the team at my company Chevron, we really believe that it was the best but it lacked development, the strong point is that it is at an affordable price, long-term and major clauses could be modified benefits, on the other hand it gave rise to a culture of taking time in the company, before we did not have that capacity to realize the time we were wasting, and this application was originally a good test and started saving time as it should.

Cons:

Good time taking, but very limited, remote control did not work, difficult access to collaborators with a pin that did not reach, bad support among other characteristics.

Tracking with Ease for profitability

Comments: I've been using Toggl track on and off for several years, but this year turning to more payments based on hours worked I am tracking all of my time. It has also helped me to see the billable vs non-billable time split.
The reports are really helping me to understand how I work and to be able to plan my workload and time a bit better.
I feel like I am much more profitable in my business now as I have a real understanding of actual time to do tasks and how to build in a non- billable time element to all client projects.

Pros:

Toggl has made my client billing so much faster and easier. There is no need to click back and forth between toggl and platforms I'm using with the auto track function. I love being able to attach a client time track report with my invoices so clients can see a breakdown of time. The reports and analytics have also given me some great insight as to how I work and where I'm spending my hours. As well as assisting in balancing my time between different client's projects more evenly.

Cons:

The are a few bugs in the auto-track and I do find that I often need to go in and edit the tracking. This is really my only bugbear with the application/ platform.

Comments: Great. Love it. As a marketing agency, I need to track all my hours then give each client a detailed report every month. Toggl is great for all of this.

Comments: Excellent.
The thing I Iike most about Togl is its simplicity.
It's easy to edit a timesheet when I forget to turn off or change the timer.
It's easy to get an aggregate of my time over any time period to aid tracking against budget and action.

Great Time Tracker

Comments: Very positive. Toggl helps me stay on track with my projects.

Pros:

Toggl is easy to use and lets me easily track different projects that I'm working on. I've tracked tens of thousands of hours on the app.

Cons:

It locked me out once, but I was able to get back in. They keep upselling other features that I don't use (goals)

Easy To Use But Lacks Features That I Need

Comments: Overall, the app is very easy if you all want to do is track your time. If you don't require tracking time outside your time zone, then this one could work for you. But if you need more options, I'd look elsewhere.

Pros:

Its easy to just start tracking your time and work. I also like the added features that shows how many hours you worked within a certain time period so its easy for me to see my total hours. Also, the dark mode option was great as well!

Cons:

I don't like that I cant change my timezone. One of my work projects requires me to track my time in that time zone and for some reason this app makes it impossible to do so.

Comments: It's been very good.
It's an integral part of my billing process to my clients and it's pretty easy and complete to use

Pros:

Works across many platforms (desktop, web, mobile)

Cons:

I wish it would highlight when a time entry is not attached to a project. I use Toggl to track time spent on clients projects and bill them. When I mess up and don't attach an entry to a project, I have to work backwards and figure out if I can confidently assign an entry to the right client account. When I can't I have to loose the time and billing. 100% this is my failure to do entries correctly, but it would be awesome if there were alerts to entries from the day prior that don't have projects attached. I can probably remember what I was doing...it's when I'm doing this at the end of the month that I can't always tie things back

Comments: Great, my favourite time tracking tool. It's great that you can track time on your desktop app, web version, and app!

Pros:

Easy and visually appealing interface. I have tried other apps but I always come back to Toggl. As a visual person, I love Toggl Track's visual appeal and colour choice!

Cons:

Adding the Calendar view can fill up the screen and make it less visually appealing. When joining another organisation's plan my own plan's time entries got deleted so I had to manually re-enter them. In the end I had to create a separate Chrome profile to be able to access the other organisation's plan and track my time with them.

Comments: Love it so much but with a growing team I might need to look for alternatives since the price is a bit high.

Pros:

How user friendly it is! I've easily been able to add clients and it's so easy to switch between tasks. I also love how the tab shows the timer time- it's a feature that I love since sometimes I will switch to a difference task but forget to update Toggl but when I see the timer running it reminds me to update the task or just get a read on how long I've been working on a task.

Cons:

I recently hired a team member and realized I need to upgrade Toggl in order to run any reports with the team member' time. It is really expensive to be on a paid plan especially since this team member only works 5ish hours a month. Wish there were lower cost options for small teams. I also help my clients do time audits and usually this is a barrier to entry when there are a lot of team members.

Comments: I have been using Toggl Track off and on for about 3 years now. I used it to track how much time I spent doing homework for college classes to get a better understanding of how much work a 3-credit-hour class actually takes, and now I'm using it to track my hours at work. I have used the free plan the entire time and find it to be sufficient for all of my needs. It's a simple piece of software that makes my life easier.

Pros:

The free plan offers a lot of functionality without paying a penny. The user interface is very efficient and intuitive to use - just press the play button and you're off. I like that I can categorize my time entries into different projects to get a more detailed view of where my time is going and then see a weekly report with it all summarized.

Cons:

It seems like reports don't load/update on the Android mobile app unless you're connected to Internet and it has a chance to sync your time entries, which kind of makes sense, but also doesn't to me. I work in rural areas with limited Internet connectivity, so it's a little annoying to not be able to load my reports while out in the field.

Reliability and simplicity

Pros:

Reliability and simplicity: the tool is very user friendly, intuitive, does not have show stopper that generate error messages or similar and highly reliable. I don’t need many of advanced and less advanced features available. I does perfectly the job it needs to do.

Cons:

If i were a new user i may find it less intuitive than originally it was few years ago. Many large companies may have reasons to limit access to thrid-party tools beyond Microsoft tools and reluctant to integrate with other ERP. Perhaps something to explore

Know how your day is being spent.

Comments: It's been great it really makes a big difference in my productivity because I can see what it is I'm doing. I don't get tempted to scroll for fun on my phone cause then I can see I'm not hitting my hours for the day.

Pros:

I can easily keep track of everything I'm doing and keep it organized. What gets measured gets managed.

Cons:

Sometimes there is a delay in the sync of Toggle extension vs my phone vs my desktop application. I've learned to do everything in the extension which seems most stable.

Comments: Solid product, I wish there was a quicker way to round time to full hours / half hours or full minutes though, atm you have to manually modify it.

Pros:

Ease of use to log time by just opening the page and pressing one button. The summary of the time, which tells me how long I worked on what. Also that times can be nicely edited.

Cons:

Sometimes I open it and accidentally start tracking. Then 8 hours later I receive an email telling me that I'm tracking the whole time.

Toggl is a lifesaver for timesheets

Comments: I have to fill out detailed timesheets every week at work, and I was always scribbling notes down, losing my notes, forgetting to take notes, and generally stressing about where my time went that week. Now I keep track automatically in Toggl and I can review my week on Friday and fill out my timesheet quickly and painlessly! I did list some cons, as there is definitely some room to improve, but this little tool has greatly reduced my stress so I am happy to give it 5 stars. I've been recommending it to anyone who will listen.

Pros:

I love the calendar feature where I can view how I spent blocks of time on each day. It is also easy to adjust after the fact (something I do a lot, as sometimes I start working on a task and forget to start the timer).

Cons:

I often leave it running by accident, and I don't like how I have to go in and manually fix it when this happens. I think I should be able to set an automatic cutoff. It's also a little clunky, especially switching between the mini timer and the full view; but that is not a huge pain point. I wish the calendar was labelled with days of the week too, not just dates, to make it easier to see my work week at a glance.

Time Tracking for Life

Comments: I’ve tried other time trackers & they did not have these features. I will definitely always choose Toggl!

Pros:

I use Toggl for all of my time; business & personal. I love how you can start typing any word that you’ve used in a description & it will start listing the recent ones with those letters/words. I also like that eventually, but not too quickly, those recents will go away so that old events don’t bog down my list of choices. It’s super quick for me to switch to a new time; sometimes, if I’m in a real time crunch, I’ll just press play on any recent tracked time to quickly get a new one started & then when I have a chance, I just change the description. I like that they made it super easy on their website to change old descriptions in mass, sometimes I change my mind about how I like to see things. I just go to the reports that show each tracked time separately & filter by the one I want to change, or, I sort alphabetically & go through the history to make sure I like all the current ones. I do that big one about once a year. I like my historical reports to be consistent.

Cons:

Once in a while, there have been errors or changes they make that I don’t like but they are very fast at fixing it & receptive to hear the details of the issues I have. They’ll even ask me for more details & if I can provide recordings of errors occurring. That shows they actually care when people have a problem, in my opinion.

Great app! Lifesaver!

Comments: Sometimes I have 6 or more entries for one of my clients... I take frequent breaks and get interrupted by other clients. Its so easy to switch the timer on and off or switch to another client. For monthly billing, I go back to reports and its very easy to switch clients and look back through several weeks.

Pros:

Toggl Track was/is a life saver. I have multiple clients and switch between clients (remotely) a lot. I used to use a paper on my desk, but now i have a laptop and don't a desk. It makes it easy to total hours for billing in reports.

Cons:

I probably don't use a lot of the features ... maybe could benefit more from the app, plus i inadvertently set up clients as projects early on. Need to fix that

A time tracking tool that works with all my devices and apps

Comments: For a small number of projects, I need to keep track of my hours. Toggl Track does that very well in a variety of ways and produces useful reports too. I have just started using auto tracking with calendar events and the browser, which should be very useful.

Pros:

Good interface and accessible on the web or phone app, with additional extensions created all the time.

Cons:

Sometimes the Windows app is slow to start. Just started using auto tracking features which hopefully means I no longer have to worry about forgetting to track or stop the timer.

Long-time Toggl user continues to recommend

Comments: I was an early user of Toggl Track. It's simple to use and gives me a sense of where I'm spending my time.

Pros:

Stop and play buttons. It makes it easy and efficient.

Cons:

Improvements over the years have taken care of most of my concerns. Sometimes I find if I have to go back and reset the time, it takes a couple of tries.

Best time tracker ever

Comments: Wonderful. It's super easy to use, I have never had a problem with it. Very intuitive.

Pros:

The reports. It's just amazing how detail the information is. Total hours, time entries, all group by projects.

Cons:

Not sure.. Maybe I cannot use it on my phone as I do on my laptop. It's not practical.
