"Compared to Outlook: clunky"

Comments: Few

Pros: We are used to it as a business; it has been used by users for a long time and so there is familiarity

Cons: Finding emails is very hard - the search function is desperately slow; Lack of predictive fields - it's much easier to use Outlook, for example; difficulty when using remotely; it's ugly

"Goldmine is rework software - Terrible stuff."

Comments: Stay far away from this badware.

Pros: Not much to like about this nightmare software. I have to use it because someone picked it and they have invested a bunch of money in it.

Cons: The list of problems is endless. Try to do anything and you are faced with filling out boxes and checking them. This style of software died years ago.
It runs like a glorified DOS program.

"Stopped using GoldMine and tried to restart it but had to pay for the time I didn't use it. BAD!!!"

Pros: Long experience in using it and comfort with using your software. It provides a large span of capabilities which makes it a powerful solution.

Cons: Your subscription plans and your horrible customer service. I stopped using GoldMine for a while and found that when I tried to restart using your software I would have to pay for all of the time that I did not use it.

"Best on-premisis CRM application available"

Comments: GoldMine is the granddaddy of multiple-user, on-premisis CRM applications. GoldMine wrote the book on many of the features and the basic organization for CRM systems generally. I've been using GoldMine for over 20 years for business organization, sales management, and marketing. New CRM applications have come and gone, but no one has beat GoldMine for ease of navigation and capability to integrate with other applications.

Pros: Full-featured as any CRM application, more-so than most
Buy once, use forever
Easier navigation than the leading brands like Salesforce.com and Microsoft Dynamics CRM
Software and data are in your hands, not "up in the cloud"

Cons: Configurability can be limited
Like any CRM, requires you to think through your business processes before you can configure it properly
Configuration is best done through a dealer, which can be expensive

Comments: We are a financial planning firm with a staff of 9. GoldMine has been great for a number of things, namely: Keeping track of communication with clients, so our team can stay in the loop and we aren't calling clients multiple times by multiple team members. Forecasting and tracking business and prospects. Scheduling appointments, next actions, calls, etc. Managing workload balance by easily identifying how much work someone has using next actions, calls, appts, etc. Automating processes (e.g. appointment reminder emails and calls, birthday and anniversary greetings, client address changes, etc.). When activated, it schedules next actions for the different team members involved so steps aren't missed. Also, it's great for managing action items for clients' financial plans. Customer support is helpful. GoldMine has a lot of capabilities, so training our team on everything has been a challenge, but as long as one or two of us understand it on a broader scope, everyday use is pretty simple to train staff on.

"Slow..."

Pros: Easily customized. contains a lot of functionality when use to its full potential. Simple to set up for new users.

Cons: Random slowness and freezing that can't be tracked to anything. (Power users/editors have constant slowness), random crashes for no reason. GM+ lags Outlook considerably. Too much data being passed back and forth (can't really use on a network connection below 100mbps = internal network). No built in connectivity to other back office apps.

Comments: I used ACT! for years until that became slow and clunky (e-mail was useless unless you used Outlook & even then that had linking problems), so I moved over to Goldmine, then upgraded to GMPE. GM has constant upgrades where they resolve 15 issues and break another 10, so in my experience, they really never fix the thing properly. I'm always scared to update, as I simply don't know what they are going to tamper with and ruin. When I finally get used to new menu layouts or something, they change it again in the next 'update'. Really? Now looking to move back, as FrontRange simply doesn't have much ongoing support for this product in terms of updates anymore. It's very old and outdated for a product that we use all day every day. There is no Office 2010 support even though it's a CRM program where we need to print letter. The final straw was the demand for an annual fee of 5 users. I'm a single user; I'm not paying for four additional licenses for a product that's poorly supported, so I havn't upgraded since Version 9.2.0.59 So I'm trawling the web looking for alternatives and just thought I would give some advice from a GMPE user and why I'm looking to move away.

Comments: Centralized contact management

Pros: Excellent support staff! The Frontrange/Heat team in Colorado Springs is great! They have always provided the best support possible.

Cons: Too easy to make duplicate records.
GoldMine incorrectly suggests moving email internal email addresses which leads to regular cleanup after incoming emails are linked to the wrong record.

"Great CRM if you know how to customize it to your business!"

Comments: I really like it for customer service.

Pros: I really like all of the places that you can add notes for each customer/vendor in their respective contact or data records. You can link financials to it or keep it separate, depending on your accounting needs. I love that you can add tasks to yourself or others to complete at a later date, with reminders. It is especially helpful to those in a customer service department for collections, notes, etc.

Cons: It can be tricky to use if you are not aware of the functions that it has. It can take some time to learn to navigate around. It is not the best for GUI for the end-user as some other programs are. Once you learn it though, it is pretty easy.

"Goldmine - Needs a revamp"

Pros: It was easy to navigate and had a large storage capacity.

Cons: Overall its appearance is very outdated and it allows duplication of records and storing of incorrect data. I was in charge of clean up of a system that had been in use over 10 years. 30,000 records and most of them had problems. There should have been more support on set up to avoid that issue.

Pros: We like the history with document management, however, please see the comment regarding the issue we have had since February. Our IT provider has been working with Goldmine and the issue remains open and unresolved.

Cons: When emails come in, attachements are locked or encrypted to anyone other than the original addressee. It makes searching through history for documents extremely frustrating.

"Not The Most User Friendly"

Comments: Very "clunky" in terms of programs. While it stores a lot of info, it also is difficult or tedious to go back and find it. Creating emails within the program is also a bit daunting. It's not a terrible program.

Pros: Holds a lot of information and does a relatively decent job at making it accessible/easy to find

Cons: Email group creator is quite old school. GoldMine doesn't always stay linked to my email. Program often slows down and freezes a lot. It has it's fair share of annoying quirks.

Cons: Not good support in MX the parters the charge more than the partners in the US they quote the travels to our city instead of trying to solve remote which increases cost. they never get in contact with us to follow up or offer something. The cost of switching to cloud is expensive compare to other CRM solutions Intelli click its no longer working at 100% even do we pay them and we pay a GM partner to try to fix it

"more than 10 year user. Good program but new users take time to get in"

Comments: we are using it in many marketing process

Pros: It's 10 years that i'm using it so i know how it works and it's fine
It has some good features
We still use it because it has great external utilities ( GoldBox, DBX Data Management) that allow us a full integration with our ERP without them Goldmine would it be useless
Affordable cost

Cons: Data structure: very very old (it suffer from long heritage from dbase era)
Interface: very old it needs a big review and redisign
Lack of deep information about the software: you need to build a monument to DJHunt and other people like him that let all of us to know Goldmine
WEB interface; still too limited and very bad compared to other products web-based, Maybe a Goldmine APP can be another good option
Frontrange is too distant from their customers : we are payng every year a fee only to receive a very light update and only few bugs corrected, please be more present in the new forum.,SA user and company we need to know clearly where Frontrange want to go with Goldmine.
We invested years on it but it seems we are abandoned and alone

Cons: It was not an easy product to work with and was extremely difficult to manage with multiple users. There were limited functionality and ease of use is not something I would relate to this application.

"Ehh... There are better softwares out there"

Comments: While Goldmine did get the job done for the most part, my university's admissions department eventually upgraded to another software due to Goldmine's limited integration capabilities. Since we were using the program to manage our prospective students, we really needed a software that could not only store information about those students, but also enable us to communicate with them through the software and schedule their visits to the university through it.

Pros: For the most part, Goldmine did what it needed us to do. In my university's admissions department, we were able to keep adequate profiles on all of our prospective students, including our history of communication with them. I also liked that on the left hand side of the program, you could see a running list of the student profiles you were previously viewing, so it was easy to jump back to their page if need be.

Cons: Goldmine is not the most intuitive program, nor does it have a very modern interface. It's also significantly limited in its integration capabilities, as it would not let us communicate with prospective students directly from the program, and it would not let us schedule their visits to campus. This meant that cut down on the efficiency of our office's work.
