Simple & Robust Site Management for Small Businesses

Comments: Overall enjoy it and won't change from it for now. Since we've opened, we've had no down time related to hosting issues, would reccomend.

Pros:

Ease of use was the biggest draw to this product. Everything was a breeze to setup and was able to start selling our products within minutes of uploading photos and descriptions, couldn't be easier.

Cons:

The software lacked the robustness of others. As far as features, some are limited in functionality where others had some small glitches.

Square online is great!

Comments: I have built an online store and completed online orders using this complete online selling tool

Pros:

Square online offers sellers the opportunity to get online and selling almost instantly! The tools are secure and completely functional allowing you to scale your business from 0 to 100 at your own pace with minimal limitations

Cons:

It’s not as flexible as tools like Shopify unfortunately but still takes its own space in the market

Square Online - Not ready for Prime Time - beware

Comments: Poor. My group converted their data to POS, then asked me to fit that into Square Online. Its nearly impossible to take a complex ecommerce structure and shove it into this simple, not ready for primetime, web tool.
Square bought Weebly, as far as I know, but they did not deploy all the Weebly web dev. tools to Square Online.
Online help is virtually useless for anything more complex than how to link a single image or create a simple product record. And when you do find a hit in online help, its in the Weebly community and doesn't apply to Square Online.

Pros:

1. Integrates with POS. 2. Category creation is easy.

Cons:

Terrible set of features for a business with > 100 products 1. If you set products up with Variations (think Red/Blue/Green shirts) you cannot archive a variation if its no longer available. 2. There is no import/export of images. All images must be manually uploaded and their meta data entered manually. 3. You cannot split an item (product) that has variations, into two products via import/export should the need arise. Get it right the first time or you are sunk. The only way is to duplicate a record and manually delete the variations from the two records manually. 4. Tech support is terrible. First they will get into the retail vs Web side of the house discussion, then once you get the right person, they never seem to know what features are or how to solve problems. 5. All variations must share the same description. Poor design. 6. You cannot launch a Coming Soon page without publishing the site first. This means you create a coming soon page as your home page, then you have to deactivate the nav, create other pages and sections, publish them and then turn the nav. on to test, then turn it off again. 7. You cannot create links to simple attached documents like PDF's (catalogs, help documents for your products etc.) 8. You cannot build an HTML block on a page to craft specific messages. 9. You cannot change your theme once the site is created. To do so, you have to reset the site and loose all your work. 10. The product design is to have a Shop ALL product page as the default. Totally impractical for large inventory retailers that would have traditional category trees.

A Great Way To Bill Customers

Comments: Square has delivered exactly what they promised and the system is intuitive and easy to use.

Pros:

Square Online has a very easy to use invoice system - it also allows you to copy and edit existing invoices for customers that have similar needs.

Cons:

There are a lot of steps to set up new clients. Also, the fees are a bit on the high side.

Square online is much better than other platforms.

Comments: Square is easy to setup easy for people to tap there card I have been using Square for over 4 years and i have never had any difficulty with it

It helps my business by selling more products and classes with ease.

I cant think of any critical feedback Square is a very user-friendly app/website

Comments: It has been a good driver of revenue for our business, but I just often feel spots where I wish it was better and more customizable.

Pros:

Lots of ability to add and customize products. It has been very successful for our lunch and bakery business.

Cons:

There are some certain customizable pieces that just aren't there. The square online site can't be customized with pictures and images. It's very difficult to have different fulfillment times for different products. It would be great to have the ability to set different fulfillment times for various square online categories.

Tool built for small business owners who need a simple, effective system

Comments: Overall my experience with Square Online has been really positive. It's made my business more stream lined and professional and helped me stay organized and on top of customer management and invoicing.

Pros:

I have been using Square online to run my small business for eight months now and it has been extremely helpful. I use it to input all of my customers information and quickly and easily build out invoices for them, send invoices, accept payments and send customers receipts. I run a service-based business where I have to travel to and from my clients, Square has allowed me to set up and use their item catalogue so that I can bill all of my services on the fly and send to my customers even while I'm out of the office on my mobile device. It allows my customers to make payments to me easily, so I don't even have to have a part in the payment processing and takes out one more step for me as I am travelling to the next client.

Cons:

I wish that it had a little bit more customization and design for my invoices and would allow me to personalize the messages it sends to my customers. I'd like to have more of my social media highlighted on the invoices and ways for my customers to connect with me more. I also which that Square was a little more tailored to service based businesses, as the items list always shows as an inventory item and asks about shipping, which is not something I need for my business and I wish I could tailor the experience to my service based business better.

Square Online

Comments: I started using this platform when they started out as Weebly (can you believe that). I loved the functionality then and definitively love where they have grown and what they offer. My experience has been amazing and I have gotten other people to create their FREE website also on this platform.

Pros:

I love that I can add all my products, edit my website, connect my bank account, and do so much, and the price is wonderful.

Cons:

They do not offer digital download options. Adding this would be amazing as I have to use another service to offer digital art prints to my clients.

Square helped my business!

Pros:

What I like most about Square online is it is beyond user friendly for me and my customers. It is a widely accepted software and my customers were able to pay simply by clicking on a link or invoice. Square also has donation links. This came in handy when I was raising money. Once I am paid, Square offers the option to be paid instantly or later that day via their card and checking account feature.

Cons:

There was a bit of delay with payments in order to verify my identity. Once I submitted all required documents, funds were released.

Very easy to use

Comments: This product is very easy to figure out and navigate.

Pros:

It's easy to navigate. And it makes ordering a breeze.

Cons:

I haven't found anything negative about Square

Comments: During this time where people are still a little wary of dining in restaurants, square online has been a vital tool in helping me serve customers through delivery and pickup.

Pros:

I love almost everything about square. The way it catalogs all of my merchandise to the ease of access for customer info, do building my website to managing payroll and the loyalty program that engages my customers and makes shopping with me more fun for them.

Cons:

There really isn’t much I can think of here, square really packs a punch but they could add a “processing fee” option where we can pass the credit card processing percentage on to the customer and remove it as a “cash incentive”

Excellent Product with Hidden Costs!!

Comments: Functionality of the website and operation is excellent. Customer service and knowledge of staff is not what it should be and information regarding fees is unclear.

Pros:

I loved how easy everything was and that it was very similar to the way Apple products work.

Cons:

There are a LOT of hidden costs with Square. We were going to use Square for our entire operation as it has features for a food business that no one else in the market has. Unfortunately Square charge 50p per online order that is not explained clearly on their website. As we process thousands of orders per week that cost is huge compared to rivals. Square were unable to provide an explanation of what that 50p per order was for and as it can’t be justified we cannot transfer our complete customer base to Square.

Square has been a great place to grow my online presence through the years

Comments: Overall I have enjoyed my square experience, I have learned a lot about building a site and creating the image in my head into real life. It is affordable for my needs and square as a whole has many resources outside of the online platform that I utilize so it make a great one stop shop.

Pros:

I love most that it is so easy to learn on and utilize. It has been a great help in creating my online platform and landing page for clients. I have been able to create a site that matches my brand perfectly and over time has grown with me. The price points as well are great and truly adjustable to what you need in the moment. If you are just starting out and only need the domain you can do that, if you want more as you grow you can do that too. It is a great place to learn new skills and create what's in your mind, especially if this process is all new to you.

Cons:

Right now I am expanding into a blog and they have a story feature that is suppose to be their version of a blog. It would say this is the thing I would like to see expand a bit, it is not as easily customizable. For example I can only put in one picture at the top and then the rest is text. I don't have the ability to add more pics. This is a new feature though so if you looking to only do a blog as you business I would look to a site that is more geared towards that. If you looking for a place to just build a site though with products or services then this is a great resource.

Square Online. Simple and Functional

Comments: Square Online was easy to set up since I was already using Square POS.

Pros:

Square Online was easy to set up and use for my vending needs.

Cons:

There isn't as much design customization as I'd like.

Its services are available to almost anyone with no credit check.

Card and chip readers are not free and may require a smart phone

That it integrates with all of the other Square Products. I love I can access it from my mobile device.

The connectivity can be spotty at times and it can crash on mobile devices at inopportune times.

Like with everything that has its pros and cons, Square online is a great tool for small and medium businesses. The software is easy to navigate and its convenience for the customer and business owners.

Excellent Software for a Small Business

Pros:

I love that Square Online allows for inventory integration across the website and the app. I sell both online and in-person and it is critical that the software removes sold items from the site automatically if I get an in-person sale.

Cons:

The website editor is a bit clunky. It is hard to find item listings previously listed, even when doing a search for the exact item name. I also have problems when trying to add inventory numbers to the item listing. I need to save and refresh several times before I can add this information.

Really good for simple cases

Pros:

The software was very easy to setup. I was able to configure a website, add items to sell, and get up and running quickly.

Cons:

Inventory management is a mess if you want to provide bundles or bulk discounts automatically. Square Online has coupons, but the user must apply them. There is no way to provide bulk discounts or bundled discounts. Manually creating such bundles is possible, but adds to inventory complexity. My Square inventory never matches my real counts because I have to manually adjust for bundles.

Comments: The overall experience with Square Online had been good. I really enjoy using it, not too difficult to use. Square gives me a lot of data and charts that I use at meeting to do an overall performance of the store.

Pros:

Online ordering and inventory are most impact feature.

Cons:

The feature that I feel could be improved are set up, it was hard to understand how to add items. Variation was hard to set up. An explanation that could pop up when you click over it would be helpful to understand what the feature is used for. The feature page online I would like to be able to manipulate more to make it my own, would like to see more options in this area like adjusting logos that I uploaded and being able to move the boxes that you click on to use.

Square for the mobile business

Comments: Overall, I am very pleased with Square Online and intend to keep using it for the foreseeable future!

Pros:

There are many features which work really well when most of your business is done via your phone. The online item catalog and cash register are both easy to use and easy to change in odd circumstances.

Cons:

I wish that the website manager would let you do a certain amount of editing via the phone software. Right now I can look at things and I can access and orders, but that's about the extent of it!

Comments: Great ! Love it !!!

Pros:

Ease of use and setup and cost. As a small business - this service is perfect for our needs.

Cons:

No issues or problems except for the one exception - during the customer checkout process, there is an option for including a coupon at checkout - this is by default - there is no way for the seller to opt out of this option - it should be an option for the seller to enable this if they plan to offer a coupon or special code.

Square is the best, so easy to use!

My inventory and customers at my fingertips from anywhere!!

I would like to be able to modify the discount functions more, but 1 get the rest at whatever discount, etc

Comments: Square has put together a very powerful software that has truly impressed me. As a small business and having all these features, this makes reporting, payroll, time tracking, inventory, etc. a breeze!

I like the reporting this software does. I can look at different types of reporting features, and have been very impressed with all the results!

There's really not too much I can say that I least like about this software at this time.

The Best Pre-Made Layouts

Comments: Overall good experience, no issues.

Pros:

I love their pre-made website designs, they are very colorful and creative. Designing with Square saves me a lot of time when editing from my mobile phone, as well.

Cons:

I dislike nothing, everything works good. I just wish that the free trial was longer than 14 days.
