Excellent functionality

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: Micropractice ease to reduce the paper load. Love the user ability to write on forms, sign and date forms without ever needing to print and then re upload .

Pros:

I am a nurse practitioner with a micro functional medicine practice, always looking to be as paperless as possible. I love Updox for several reasons. One is that when labs come in, I have many tools to use to sign off on the labs, highlight abnormals, write notes on the lab itself and then easily download the results. Currently Updoz does not interface with my EHR but hopefully in the future for ease of moving it straight into the patients chart. I also love that I can drop a blank word document into the main portal and create a new document right there with ease and then fax out. This makes writing medical necessity letters for patients easy, new lab orders, things that require my signature.

Cons:

I wish they would integrate with Power 2 Practice, my EHR. Recently, Updox fixed a feature which has been so helpful. I can now easily resend a fax from where it originated, after writing on it or signing it. That hadn't been a user friendly function before now so thank you!

Great Product. Can be better.

4.0 4 years ago

Comments: It is pleasing, but can be better.

Pros:

Its versatility and consistency. You can easily trust it to ensure that everything you needed done will be done, and if for any reason it is unable to send a fax or a message, it will alert you. It also has great staff/user settings that help in larger teams.

Cons:

The inability to fax blast to a contact list. The complexity of adding/importing contact lists. The UI gets messy pretty quickly.

Waste time and money, poor customer service , too many issues in 4 days

1.0 2 years ago

Comments: Horrible experience! The care and the concern were not there. I was sinking, no one seemed to care. I do not want anyone else to go through that. If you had great experiences with Updox, good for you. I am speaking the truth of what I have experienced. When I asked for help or cancel, one of their customer services said, well you need to give 30 days notice. Seriously? I was on day 4 and it was Not working properly, I sent several messages, asking for help....They can keep the $94.00. I am hoping they have a better system in place to serve their clients. Use Doxyme and Amazon as their business model. That might help.

Pros:

The video quality is great. That's all I enjoyed for the 4 days that costs me $94.00. I did not sign up to quit, but I spent 4 days with too many obstacles with no help, so I decided to go with Doxyme, and it was a well-overdue change. Why would I paid that money and quit? I am currently using Practice Fusion, so it was convenient, so I did not want to leave.

Cons:

The system was not working properly, my calls have constantly dropped. I checked my internet speeds, everything was fine. My iMac computer has no issues. it's only 6 months old. I contacted their customer's service since I had so many patients scheduled and it was Not a weekend before they blame it on the weekends. They got back to me the next day, took notes and said they will escalate. I was like a ball. They sent me several emails with no resolutions. My experience with them, was a 4 days nightmare! No refunds although I only used their trash for 4 days and I reported the issue with no resolutions. I am not here to crash any businesses since I own several businesses myself. I am here to share my experience with others. I am currently using Doxyme, and I have no issues with them. Doxyme is very receptive, and acts fast to questions. Doxyme has a help desk available and I only pay $35.00 monthly for my plan. Doxyme's video qualities are much better although Updox video qualities are great as well. I can get patient's files during the calls etc. I feel at ease with Doxyme because I know if I need help, they will be there for me. Updox needs to change their business model. They are not worth $94.00. Their customer's service is poor. They don't seem to care. What does that mean? Collected information to escalate while I have 20 patients to see? Does that sound something you will want to be a part of? Walk in my shoes, don't send me endless emails. Never again!

Updox Video

4.0 4 years ago

Comments: Updox representative responds to needs quickly and service has made telehealth transition quick and relatively easy.

Pros:

The ease of which links can be sent to patients and connectedness to our EMR is fantastic.

Cons:

We are excited for the ability to add multiple attendees in family separation situations and group offerings. We are also interested in expanded capabilities including online screening formats. Some users have difficult enabling video/audio equipment.

User for over 8 years in a medial practice

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: Overall for our practice, it is a huge help. Customer service always return your calls and assist you with any problems you encounter in running the program.

Pros:

I like how the software integrates with our EMR program. It saves paper on incoming faxes as well as time for scanning documents from a fax machine into a patient's chart. It makes the workload much easier on the staff as well as myself. I also like that it acts as an email to which we can receive correspondences from there as well.

Cons:

I wish some features were less costly such as the scheduling featuring. I wish that was automatically integrated to allow patients to make appointments online to minimize some of the telephone traffic we receive regarding appointments. I also like the call reminder feature to remind patients of appointments but the overall cost outweighs the purchase of the feature.

Comments: Not a good experience and don't recommend to anyone

Pros:

A great solution to outdated fax machines

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: Overall, Updox is a great tool for any office. It allows you to kick old fax machines to the curb and simplify the faxing process overall. It's simple and efficient and has many features that allow you to customize faxes to your specific needs.

Pros:

Updox is great to use for any office with multiple locations or any office wanting to be more environmentally friendly. I love that Updox lets me convert documents straight from my computer to a fax and makes it a breeze to send these to other businesses or even clients. It's a great solution to so many simple office problems.

Cons:

There is a learning curve in using Updox that requires time to know how to use it properly. Once this is overcome though, it's simple to continue use and makes faxing efficient.

Needed to Find Patient Texting Program Quickly

2.0 8 months ago

Comments: Poor interaction with consumer support without empathy or compassion.

Pros:

It works as text but doesn't follow individual conversations well. Does not easily transfer text to my chart.

Cons:

I found UpDox and wanted to try it. It was not as useful as it appeared, but I was forced to sign a 1 year contract. I notified UpDox that I will not be using it - there response was - you signed a one year contract. As a very small solo-provider telehealth practice - this was an expense that I had not counted on and it is very expensive - Especially for something I will not be using. But UpDox was rigid.

Alternatives Considered:

Poor customer support is inexcusable in Health Care

1.0 3 years ago

Comments: They make it very difficult to get real time customer service disrupting patient care I am fed up with this program. Often end up using the free apps from Doximity for physicians which always works well this paid program fails. If we weren’t stuck with PracticeFusion we would never have signed up with a company that it is

Pros:

Integration with PRACTICE FUSION we were not given a choice since they have already made the deal with each other

Cons:

Poor customer support after you sign up and pay

Customer service lacks

3.0 5 years ago

Comments: Poor printer drivers make it unreliable and time consuming.

Pros:

It is easy to integrate with Amazing Charts.

Cons:

I rarely leave a bad review. THeir customer service hasn't replied to me in over a week now, I called and no call back. Their instructions to install printers don't even have windows 10 in many of them. The printer drivers don't consistently stay connected. Faxes are often shown with lines making them hard to read. I may change my opinion if they actually contact me to help, but I would chose another software over this if you have an option.

Not for small practice

2.0 3 years ago

Comments: If you have a small practice, this is not the software for you. You can do better, much cheaper. In addition, when we signed up, the agent quoted us a price of 2000 dollars annually. They charged our card 3600 dollars. When I protested they dropped the price to 3200 dollars. I personally felt we had been duped but we were trying to get out from under a ton of paperwork and decided to try it because it would allow us to text electronic forms to our patients. Their texting works, but the patient needs to be in your system. We live in rural Maine, most of our patients were not comfortable filling out online forms. We ended up modifying our existing forms to cut down on paperwork. So, we were using updox as just a very overpriced fax service. We figured we would wait out our year and not renew. Then faxes started getting lost. The people sending faxes said they were coming back as undeliverable. I set up a ticket and support could not find a problem. I told them we wanted to cancel. They refused to refund any money, which is what I expected. This product might be ok for a larger practice, but small practices beware.

Pros:

Their support is good and responded in a timely manner and the tech was pleasant.

Cons:

The fax was unreliable. We previously used SFax and it cost a fraction of what Updox charges and we never lost a fax. Using Updox, we have lost several faxes and have encountered problems sending.

Satisfied user

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: The workload for our office would be tremendous without this exceptional tool. Great product! The newer feature of being able to text from Updox has streamlined much of our basic communication and helped close a gap for patient appointment reminders.

Pros:

Updox is a great program and has worked beautifully with Practice Fusion. The ease of having faxes come in and be able to directly link to a patients chart is invaluable!

Cons:

Our's is a small business, and the monthly fee can be a higher cost for the service.

Thanks Updox!!

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: Overall, I am extremely happy with Updox! The application itself as well as the employees that have helped us out along the way!

Pros:

I love the easiness of using Updox! I don't have to hunt around, bother customer service for what I need to do. Some of the other software/applications that I use, are time consuming and exhausting to figure out.

Cons:

I would like to see it integrate with my EMR so that I don't have to download documents from Updox and then upload them into the EMR.

Great Customer Service and Ease of Use

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: We have been able to conduct telehealth visits for our vulnerable patients to keep them safe at home during the COVID outbreak.

Pros:

We use Updox all day every day for fax and document management. When we decided to implement telehealth, we were able to do so in less than 72 hours with the help of Updox! The transition was super easy for staff and patients.

Cons:

Difficult to correctly set up users with security settings. There isn't a ton of guidance.

A good solution if you are an EHR user. Needs help as a stand alone product

5.0 4 years ago

Pros:

I have not lost a fax or had an issue with faxes not sending. Almost no downtime in 7 years.

Cons:

I do not want to add a number to my contacts when I send a fax. I would like to setup routing rules. I would like to make sending faxes easier for my team: If they had an email address where they could email an attachment with the outbound phone number in the subject.

Still on the ledge about Updox

4.0 4 years ago

Comments: Overall, after getting used to using the program, I am fairly satisfied with it. Just takes some getting used to how to use it.

Pros:

I have been using Updox intermittently for a little over a year. This program was implented for our company use by our IT guys. I know that myself and many of my co-workers found it confusing and complicated to use at first. It took some getting used to. Now that I have figured Updox out, I can load my faxes fairly quickly and check back for my results. It's maybe not the most user friendly program but it gets the job done.

Cons:

I have told our IT guys several times that I am still able to see other departments faxes and they can probably see mine. This is an issue as I am in HR and handle many confidential documents. IT tells me other depts can't see my documents sent but considering I can see theirs, I'm sure they can see mine. I think there needs to be a clear indication for each dept. that there is confidential areas when using Updox. I don't like that I have to keep "refreshing" to see if a fax went through. Even though I have checked the option for Updox to notify me when the fax is completed, I still never get any alerts.

Comments: Often times the manual fax machines will not complete the fax or they jam up if it is a lengthy fax. UPDOX faxes every time.

Great service

Comments: I am confident and happy with updox

Pros:

Easy for patient to use. That is big because so many platforms require downloading and logging in. To much to ask for a patient to do to co tact me.

Cons:

It’s not too difficult to delete video call
