Engineering Student use of MATLAB

5.0 10 months ago

Comments: I am never mad to be assigned a project in MATLAB and actively choose to use it for some calculations. Many classes force or recommend its use at my school, which is a good thing as I think it is a very powerful tool that has many possible applications.

Pros:

MATLAB is a great easy to learn programming language. It has proven incredibly useful to me in solving lab calculations, graphing lab data and also fully simulating an aircraft in Simulink. The amount of toolkits and features that expand off of the base MATLAB product make this a must have in my opinion.

Cons:

Having used other coding languages, I always forget that its indexes start at 1 and not 0 which is the standard.

Usefull Tool

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

In my opinion, MATLAB offers a unique set of unmatched functionalities that makes it unique in today's world. If you are into subjects such as mathematics or physical simulation, use MATLAB. The final results will be much more precise, fast and easy to get. MATLAB is much more practical because when code errors occur, it is much easier to spot them due to a set of user-friendlies messages printed on the terminal. Instead of saying: "Something is wrong in line 29", the MATLAB engine says: "Something is wrong in line 29 because ..." Also, attached to this message is a link to an internal library that gives you a small explanation about the subjet.

Cons:

MATLAB has a very unique coding language, therefore spend some time studying it. For instance, the first index of an array or list is one, not zero, as in most common coding languages.

5.0 last year

Comments: Our firm focuses on market research and my work involves collecting data and sometimes analyzing and presenting it. MATLAB has the features we need to manage, analyze, and present data to help our clients make informed decisions. MATLAB is relatively easy to use when you understand the basic functions and helps us meet our clients' needs. Although it is relatively expensive and requires learning, it is a great tool once you understand how it works.

Pros:

MATLAB provides a full set of tools to analyze data and derive meaning from all the figures we collect from the field. It can accommodate a broad range of data and simplifies the analysis stage. It also comes in handy when writing reports, presentations, and filling out research data sheets because of its data visualization. You can use it to simplify complicated data sets into graphs and charts, making it easy for a layman to understand.

Cons:

MATLAB requires learning because it is not one of the easiest software to use. It has many intricate tools designed to perform simple and complex mathematical or statistical tasks. Therefore, users certainly need to learn to effectively use it. However, analyzing data with MATLAB and creating charts and graphs is not too complicated.

Powerful Tool for Data Analysis and Presentation

5.0 last year

Comments: MATLAB helps us with data analysis, visualization, modeling, and reporting. Although we don't use it daily, it is a valuable tool we need to meet our data analysis needs. However, it has a long learning curve, especially for someone without technical and data analysis knowledge. The cost is high but it is worth it based on its features.

Pros:

MATLAB can manage large datasets efficiently and derive logical reports from the data. It allows us to perform complex statistical analysis and present the data logically to help in decision-making. It can perform calculations with a few clicks on the mouse. Besides, it is great for statistical and financial modelling or forecasting. It is compatible with Microsoft Excell, making it easy to import data.

Cons:

The cost is relatively high. New users often experience challenges before they get the hang of it. I'd say it is not something you can use without prior training since mistakes during data analysis will obviously lead to wrong conclusions. It seems to take too much storage space or computer resources, making the computer slow.

Good Software for Mathematics

5.0 last year

Comments: I frequently use this programme. I use it primarily because it has a lot of built-in features that make the work much simpler. Once you understand its syntax, MatLab is a fantastic programme. But instead of crashing everything, they should get an undefined error when they click on a zero-dividing area.

Pros:

With the aid of this tool, I can complete all of my engineering, mathematical, post-processing, and analytical tasks. Engineers can benefit greatly from using it. With MATLAB, any task can be completed with ease. a good selection of tools, packages, and libraries. extremely flexible engineering and mathematical tool. too much latitude in how engineering tasks are carried out. It makes solving all of your maths problems much simpler.

Cons:

It lacks a legitimate dark mode. Despite being a frequently used tool, it lacks a dark theme. If you're not an educator, it's expensive for individuals. With new updates released each year, processing demands rise and the weight of the tool on your computer increases.
