SAP Ariba- the best Procurement automation tool you can have

5.0 8 months ago

Comments: Overall, its a great tool to solve all our 3rd party vendor communications. Though it may have a few downsides but still better in the industry.

Pros:

a. Effective lifecycle design for all procurements needs b. The comprehensive capability of encompassing every activity involved in procurement from pre-PO to vendor selection c. Excellent integration with inhouse tools for quick payment processing d. Safe and secure authorization/single sign-in methodology

Cons:

Very slow operations and the UI/UX is difficult to understand, need to put a lot of time to learn, feels outdated. There a bit issues in adding many 3rd party contractors. The capacity needs to be increased.

best finance e-invoicing tool for fast process

5.0 3 months ago

Comments: SAP Ariba is one of the best tools in the SAP ecosystem. We can raise invoices in just a few minutes; we dont have to make long manual calculations, collect the physical invoices, or have to go to different departments for signings, approvals and stamps; we just have to raise invoice, it will be directly transfered ot to the concerned person, the person will approve the invoice, then will go to the next department as per the company defined flow and at last to the finance team which will approve and relase the payment, it reduced aoverall manual efforts of invoicg, you don't have to create physical files for keeping invoices, maintaining big records, all done easily in one go

Pros:

one of the best tools of already using any tool from SAP in your organization; it's mainly used for e-invoicing, payment approval, and processing. You dont have to raise physical invoices; just raise the invoice in ariba, it will go to the assigned person. After approval, go to the finance team, and then the payments will be released.

Cons:

Nothing to dislike; the finest tool for e-invoicing

Pros:

It was super easy to enter travel expenses and get reimbursed very quickly.

Cons:

As it is with any SAP product, it really depends on how well Ariba gets deployed at your organization due to the extensive customization and automation options. But after we deployed it effectively, Ariba became effortless to use.

A Practical Tool for RFPs, Though Not the Most Modern Option

4.0 3 months ago

Comments: My experience with SAP Ariba was positive. While it’s not the most modern or versatile tool, it gets the job done effectively for procurement and RFP management. It's user-friendly enough for most professionals to navigate without major issues.

Pros:

SAP Ariba helped me participate effectively in RFP processes. Its functionalities are practical and straightforward, making it accessible with some common sense.

Cons:

The interface feels a bit outdated compared to more modern platforms. Additionally, there are more versatile alternatives available in the market.

Stay away

1.0 2 years ago

Comments: worst system ever. System is broken. It is breaking people in my organisation.

Pros:

nothing - everything in the system that I've used is broken. I've had a different problem with every PO I've created.

Cons:

This is the worst software system I've ever encountered and I worked in government for 15 years. It is constantly crashing, the team buying function doesn't work, the system can't cope with changes to POs after they have initially been created. E.g. I want to break 1 payment into multiple at a later date - the system can't deal with this and now I'm left with cranky vendors who can't get their invoice paid. I manage over 30 contracts which are all multi-year. I can't get my colleagues access such that if I'm on leave they can't pay invoices for me. Some POs I've created never got sent to the vendor, even though other POs have gone. There are so many bugs in this system. Stay away from it if you are a large, complex organisation.

The best expense tracking system along the supply chain

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: SAP Ariba helps me manage my expenses and track and evaluate them to accomplish the best supply chain operations. It also keeps track of the accounts we have paid or need to pay, so you are completely aware of your contractual duties. The finest vendors and rates allowed us to simplify procurement operations and boost contract transparency.

Pros:

It is the best management program that helps companies expand, as it provides many services that allow new horizons for cooperation with others and contribute to increasing the company's ability to track spending. SAP Ariba provides complete transparency in the procurement process. Through its analytical tools, it is able to connect suppliers and buyers on a single platform, enabling them to complete all stages smoothly and flexibly. The user interface is attractive and easy to use, and it is cloud-based, enabling all parties involved in the operations to get the best fit for their services. I like the reports that I can get that show you consumption patterns and many data according to your interests, which gives you new horizons and gives you ideas that enable you to get the desired success.

Cons:

It has not many negatives. In terms of business as well as day-to-day dealings with suppliers, I find it to be a useful software that I can rely on for management needs. It requires some training to use its services effectively, and some apps have trouble connecting with it.

Not designed for sourcing managers’ needs

1.0 4 years ago

Comments: Good for process compliance folks, bad for sourcing managers and suppliers. Don’t buy, avoid. Really!

Pros:

It’s a compliance tool so it’s a way of ensuring that offers sent by suppliers, tender documents etc are captured centrally and survives even though an employee has left the org.

Cons:

I hate Ariba and I will have plenty of reasons to justify this. First, this was not designed to be user friendly or intuitive at all! It’s like a programmer decided to be a procurement manager and started introducing complicated steps to what is otherwise straightforward. Sending a tender document to suppliers by email takes 5 min vs sending by ariba which takes anything between 5 hours to set up to 5 days depending on approval gateways. Secondly, it’s very unforgiving. If you didn’t do something the right way, the only way to undo it is to start from scratch. Third, it’s user interface sucks. Nothing is connected or seamless. You literally have to memorise the series of tabs and drop down cells to run a tender. Fourth, it’s NOT customisable at all. Everything seems to be hard coded and if there’s any feature or function change it will take months even years to get implemented. Lastly, I’ve used ariba in a previous organisation 9 years ago and well… I’m using ariba in my new org now and NOTHING has changed. So you’re buying a junk car who will tell you that to turn right you have to steer your wheel one full turn first before you can turn right.

Powerful Vendor Management software

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: I would highly recommend this product for companies looking to manage a large number of properties with a large array of services and vendors that need to be managed.
Once you get all your properties, services and vendors setup, you will save so much time and have control over your service contracts.

Pros:

From a vendor side of this software, it was revolutionary. We got paid 10 times faster for our service contracts. Batch invoicing was easy and organized. It was easy to batch invoice monthly for our standard service contracts and also the functionality of specialty services that were not a part of the regular scope of the monthly services. As an account manager, Ariba actually helped me to manage our facilities maintenance service providers. Also, as a project manager, it was easy to submit specialty invoices. They would then be sent to the correct team of our client for review and easy approval.

Cons:

At the start is was difficult to learn. But during the course of using the software, Ariba upgraded features and once we learned how to utilize all the features, the benefits prevailed.

Not optimized for mass invoicing purposes

2.0 4 years ago

Comments: Trying to upload invoices. For one invoice, there is a lot of steps, literally rekeying in all the info on the invoice and then attach the invoice. When you have to upload more than 300 invoices per month, that is another story. Please work on a mass upload feature. I could be optimized. For now, I do not recommend Ariba for supplier invoicing.

Pros:

Good for PO tracking and for the customer's end

Cons:

No invoice mass upload feature A lot of steps to submit the invoices Redundant to resubmit the invo

Not easy to use and quite time consuming

2.0 7 years ago

Pros:

There is not much about Ariba that I like except the email notifications where they send you alerts for leads/ RFPs do work.

Cons:

This is the first sourcing/ procurement software that I've ever used, and I've spent an unnecessary amount of time on it because of the lack of user-friendliness. For example, I was completing my company's profile for a RFP, and the button to show which blanks should be filled didn't work at all, there was just no response. Until after a while later, I figured out that I would try turning my adblock off, then it worked. Still, the whole process consisted of filling in the same information multiple times.

I get what Ariba is trying to achieve but it hurts small businesses

2.0 4 years ago

Comments: There has to be a way to waive charges for small businesses

Integration with SAP. I suppose it helps big corporations manage their stock levels in a systematic way.

Cons:

When small businesses are forced to use it, it adds a significant cost of operation without any gains.

Terrible for small suppliers

2.0 3 years ago

Comments: No benefits for us as a supplier, just creates more work for us.

Pros:

Nothing, no intention of using this program for anything beyond being forced to by a customer.

Cons:

Being forced to use this program by 1 customer for non product related supply that only occurs randomly throughout the year. I am forced to duplicate the work I produce on my own accounting system to enter into my customers system. In other words, I am doing their work for them for no financial gain.

SAP Ariba - Spend Management

5.0 6 days ago New

Comments: At first glance, SAP Ariba can be a bit confusing. There is lot going on within this software, especially if you are coming into it with little or no previous purchasing software experience. However, after using the software for a little while it becomes second nature as to how the software is laid out and where to go to find things.

Pros:

SAP Ariba is the primary purchasing system that my company uses. Primarily it is used for inputting spot buys as well as guided buying. The guided buying is especially convenient because it is much quicker turnaround time to get a purchase order issued than it ever has been before because all items in guided buying are essentially pre-approved and therefore require a much shorter approval workflow before a PO is issued.

Cons:

SAP Ariba was so different than the previous purchasing system that my company used, that getting the hang of SAP Ariba took a little longer than I would have expected. Good training would help with this however. Like anything else, once you use it for a while you get used to the layout of things and the software becomes second nature.
